01Our story

From vessel cleaning
to full lifecycle support.

Our story began in 2022. Back then we focused on Vessel Cleaning Services for Oil and Gas companies. Today we support a diverse set of customers every day with exceptional services and products.

We have expanded from vessel cleaning into Engineering Consultancy, Remote Surveillance and Inspection, Pipeline Inspection and Maintenance, Pressurized and Unpressurised Vessel Inspection and Maintenance, Industrial Cybersecurity, Desludging, Civil Engineering, SCADA, Instrumentation System Engineering, Safety Integrity System Engineering and Telecommunication Engineering.

Our services span upstream and downstream oil & gas support, telecom tower infrastructure, fibre optic installation, and fully integrated CCTV and surveillance systems. We have further extended into Decommissioning Services and Manpower Services, supporting operators throughout the asset lifecycle — from installation and maintenance through to safe, compliant and cost-effective end-of-life decommissioning, backed by our own pool of certified technical personnel.

Managing Director

Oversees strategic operations with a commitment to regulatory compliance, risk management and sustainable growth. Ensures Calmic delivers results while upholding the highest standards of accountability and governance.

Mohd Qamarul Arifin

Executive Director

Leads business and project activities for Calmic’s oil & gas work, with a focus on Public Address and General Alarm (PAGA) systems. Oversees the PAGA installation and maintenance project at Tapis Platform — from procurement through completion — and acts as primary client liaison with operators and stakeholders.

Manages procurement of equipment, materials and services; supervises project activities with technical teams, contractors and suppliers; and drives business development through opportunity identification, client engagement and proposal support. Background includes project coordination, documentation and stakeholder management on electrical and civil delivery work.

30+ years upstream oil & gas across Malaysia and Qatar. Former Head of Telecoms Projects at QatarEnergy (8 years) and senior telecoms leadership within PETRONAS Carigali (13 years). Originates and wins engineering contracts through direct operator relationships; leads the full business acquisition process from opportunity identification through contract award. BSc Chemical Engineering, University of Tulsa, USA.

Over 30 years in project delivery and risk management, 25+ years in project controls, with portfolio exposure exceeding RM48 billion and senior responsibilities on major Sarawak infrastructure programmes.

Project Lead Mechanical

Over 18 years directly involved in oil & gas term contracts and projects with Sarawak Shell, Sabah Shell, PETRONAS Carigali, Nippon Oil, Petronas Gas, MLNG, PTTEP, KPOC, Vestigo and other operators. Project Manager for storage crude oil tank desludging and cleaning, PAGA systems, FSO tank cleaning and desludging, and pressure vessel and tank cleaning scopes. Earlier career in banking sales and trade services (1987–2004).
